Wednesday’s manhunt for two suspects in the CIBC Grimsby bank robbery proved unsuccessful.
About 1:15 p.m., Niagara Regional Police from 8 District (Grimsby) were called to CIBC in downtown Grimsby for a reported robbery.
Investigation has revealed two men went into the bank and demanded cash from bank employees. A quantify of cash was obtained.
No injuries were reported and no weapon was used in the commission of the offense, say police.
The suspects were described as both being light-skinned black males, wearing black athletic wear. Both men wore hoods and coverings over their faces.
Shortly thereafter, police responded to a motor vehicle collision on the QEW near Casablanca Blvd where two men were seen fleeing north towards Lake Ontario near Winston Road. The men, believed to be connected to the earlier robbery, were seen to have facial injuries.
Numerous officers attended the area, however the suspects have not been located.
The incident is actively being investigated by the 8 District Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) anyone with information is asked to call (905) 688-4111 Dial 3, badge number 9148.

A manhunt is currently underway after CIBC Grimsby was robbed this afternoon and what is suspected to be the getaway car crashed on the QEW at Casablanca Boulevard.
Currently, 3 p.m., Niagara Regional Police have the Winston Road area of Grimsby blanketed with officers.
The description of the suspects:
• 2 black male occupants – both bleeding from faces
• 1st make -Mid 20’s puffy vest, skinny.
• 2nd male- was heavier set. They hopped the fence and ran towards Casablanca Blvd.
It is believed the suspects are still in the area.
NRP said if seen, do not approach. Call police immediately.
