Anna Murre, Ward 3, Lincoln 2022

I have lived and worked in Lincoln for over 30 years, and this town is an integral part of the experiences that have shaped my life and my family. I am deeply committed to and invested in this community, and I want to give back by representing your voice at Town Hall – speaking to the needs of our community in terms of budgets & fiscal accountability, responsible development, parks, libraries, and community programming.

I have had the opportunity to work closely with a wide variety of local business owners and community leaders – to hear, understand and address their concerns and challenges, and to help them navigate the sometimes complex landscape of municipal, regional, provincial and federal governments and programs.   I’ve seen firsthand how the impacts of pandemic-related shutdowns are still being felt across all business sectors, and continued support for local businesses must be a priority as we move into a new term of Council.  To ensure that Lincoln remains ‘Open for Business’, municipal policies impacting the business community should focus on eliminating red tape and creating new opportunities.

I am a board member of both the Lincoln Pelham Public Library and the Rotary Club of Lincoln because I believe in the value of individuals working together to create a strong, resilient, and caring community.  It’s important that Town Council and staff work collaboratively with our local service groups to enable them to bring their skills, dedication, and commitment to the forefront of building a vibrant community that supports programming and resources for our youth, families, individuals, and seniors.

Lincoln is growing fast – and that brings both challenges and opportunities.  New people in our neighbourhoods provide fresh ideas and new perspectives.   It’s vital that Council create space for diverse voices representing all aspects of our community, including both long term residents and those who have recently made Lincoln their home.  Together, we can create a community that is engaged, active, and welcoming to all.

I went back to school as a mature student in 2011, earning my MBA with a double minor in Accounting & Finance and Management while continuing to work full time.  That experience, combined with my work history in a broad range of business roles, means that I bring a strong set of skills, experience, and qualifications to the role of your representative for Ward 3 at Lincoln Town Hall.

I feel confident in my ability to handle the workload, speak to your concerns, and bring a fresh perspective and new voice to the table.  I look forward to being able to represent Ward 3, champion local business, and connect you with the resources you need to thrive as you live, work, and serve our community here in Lincoln.
