Dave Thompson, Ward 3, Lincoln 2022

A lifelong Niagara resident, husband and father, Dave Thompson has been an integral member of the Vineland/Jordan community since 1996, as a resident, Business Owner and Municipal Councillor.

Dave has served 2 terms as a Town of Lincoln Councillor and he is once again seeking to represent Ward 3 (Vineland & Jordan) in the 2022-2026 term.

As an active volunteer, Dave was one of the primary organizers and Co-Chair for the founding board of Vineland’s Upper Deck Youth Centre. As a board member, he was able to ensure the long-term sustainability of Upper Deck with the acquisition and repurposing of the current facility for the use in the community by YFC. Dave is also a board member of Community Care of West Niagara and was the Technology Lead for the Legends Golf Site at the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games.

Dave has been the Chair of the Town of Lincoln’s Committee of Adjustment since 2018, ensuring residents’ voices are heard regarding changes occurring in their neighborhoods.

As a two term Councillor, Dave enjoyed the challenge of working with local businesses to help them overcome hurdles that are a part of navigating the complex world of all levels of Government and Utilities by cutting through the red tape. He strives to come up with solutions, that allow business owners to succeed and grow their operations, while simultaneously growing local employment opportunities.

Dave has always been committed to a balanced approach of ratepayer affordability and infrastructure investment, which is the one of the keys to a financially healthy community.

The focus of the next term of council needs to be on Vineland and Jordan, including the completion of the Jordan Village reconstruction, the update and upgrade of Vineland Downtown, and redevelopment of Prudhommes; having served 2 terms on council, chairing the planning committee during that time, and chairing the town’s Committee of Adjustment during the last 4 years. Dave knows ward 3, and has the experience to make the important decisions when they come to the table, he excels at working with all stakeholders around that table to ensure balanced representation and thoughtful decisions made are in the best interest of our ward and our community.

He has done the job and has a proven track record of being a key resource for small business and Agriculture in our community knowing them intimately as he works in both. Coming out of the pandemic we need focus on the local business community both in the Agriculture and Small Business sectors.

Working together with all the stakeholders across the community will be the key for a positive and solid recovery.

Dave is the only candidate from Vineland…..Vineland needs focus, it needs someone to make sure our voices are heard. Dave has the experience, knows the issues and will fight for our fair share. Vineland and Jordan need a strong voice that can work across the table.

Dave is that Voice, and the choice for Councillor in Ward 3!
