Mike Mikolic, Ward 3, Lincoln 2022

It has been a true privilege to have served the residents of Ward 3 as your Town Councillor during these past 4 years.  Having been a local business owner and resident for over 25 years, I’ve always appreciated the wonderful attributes of Lincoln.  From its unique surroundings to the amazing residents that live and work here, we live in a beautiful town.  Whether it’s spending time hiking on the trails with my dog, an afternoon at a winery, or a day at the beach, I’m proud to call Lincoln my home.  These have been some of the most progressive times for the Town of Lincoln, especially within our ward, despite the challenges of Covid.

Your concerns and feedback are important to me which is why I’ve always been dedicated to make every effort to respond to all in as timely a fashion as possible.  As your Ward Councillor, I’ve always felt that one of my most important duties is to be your voice at Town hall.

My goal was to bring a resident’s perspective to all meetings and votes, to represent all – including businesses and community groups, to ensure responsible municipal spending, work towards balanced growth, and the promotion of our community.  Some of the significant highlights of what has been achieved this past term include a by-law addressing cannabis cultivation and its nuisance odours – along with its enforcement, the construction start of the Jordan Village Improvement area and the advocating for over 57 million dollars in upper level funding. In addition, improved methods with the delivery of communication pertaining to Town initiatives/updates through mailed Town/Ward newsletters, Ward 3 meetings, and social media were developed and implemented.

If re-elected, I’m hoping to continue pushing for the Region to perform some much needed improvements to the downtown Vineland/Victoria Ave. corridors as I feel this is an area that has tremendous potential, once a vision is established.  Housing and its affordability within our community has become a challenge that we’ve taken head on. Through the creation of an advisory committee, our hope is to attract new investment from developers that will be willing to work with the Town in creating a diverse range of housing options for both new and existing residents.

I believe it’s extremely important to have residents of all ages and walks of life live within our community which is why it’s so important to ensure that our municipality is one that welcomes all and is able to provide the accommodations to do so.  I’m looking forward to knocking on residents’ doors and discussing some of these accomplishments, along with any new concerns or feedback that I can take with me back to Town Hall.  It’s these personal discussions that influence and guide me as I seek your confidence in making important municipal decisions on your behalf to continue moving Lincoln in a forward direction.

I would be honoured to be able to continue working together, with you, to sustain this progressive momentum for another 4 years.
